PhD in Bioengineering

The PhD program in Bioengineering is jointly implemented by Izmir Institute of Technology and The Institute of Health Sciences of Dokuz Eylül University. Students admitted to the program are coadvised by faculty members from both Institutions. The objective of PhD program in Bioengineering is to create intellectual platform required for solving medical and biotechnological problems by applying science and engineering principles. The program provides students with a broad curriculum and research skills on various aspects of bioengineering covering biomedical engineering and biological engineering.

The required course load of the program is 21 credits with a minimum of 7 credited courses. In addition to the mandatory core courses, students can register for elective courses from other departments and/or DEU depending on their specific interests. An additional qualification exam is also required to be taken by the end of fifth semester.

SCIENTIFIC PREPARATION CLASS
Scientific preparation program is implemented to ensure compliance of admitted students to their program. Students who are going to be included in scientific preparation program are determined by the program coordinators according to the success level and the structure of undergraduate and/or graduate background of the students.
